Come experience and explore
the biodiversity of El Prado Preserve,
in the heart of the Bolivian Amazon.

An Abundance of Life

Estación Ecológica Río San Martín LLC was established in 2006 to purchase and preserve a large tract of rain forest in Bolivia's eastern Amazonian lowlands.

Located on the eastern edge of Bolivia's Beni Savannas, the preserve, called El Prado, is nearly 3000 acres of closed canopy forests, woodlands, and gallery forests that border the Río San Martín.

Our preserve is contiguous with the vast Reserva Forestal Itenez, a region of remote savanna grasslands and intact rain forests teaming with an abundance and diversity of wildlife and extending to Bolivia's border with Brazil.

Opportunities to Learn and Enjoy
In addition to our primary goal to preserve El Prado's highly biodiverse ecosystems we provide research opportunities for those interested in the study of tropical biology and ecology.

Minimal impact ecotourism opportunities are also provided by some of our LLC members.  We've hosted serious birders, tropical fish hobbyists, sport fisherman, and naturalists all looking for a unique experience. If you are interested in joining us on one of our member-led trips to El Prado, please contact us.

" The clear areas of the river were full of schooling characins, and we could see cichlids swimming in small
groups below them."
