Birding

Birds of Bolivia...

Because we are located on the edge of vast naturally occurring savannas, birders can expect to see a great diversity of bird species, some that utilize both forest and grassland habitats.  In addition, the abundant lakes and rivers are home to an amazing diversity of resident and migratory waterfowl.

Just a few of the birds that one can expect to see are blue and yellow macaws, green and red macaws, chestnut-fronted macaws, amazon parrots, parakeets, rheas, trumpeters, tinamous, yellow rumped caciques, screamers, tanagers, toco toucans, aracaris, hoatzins, king fishers, roseate spoonbills, ibis and jabiru storks, not to mention an amazing diversity of raptors.

"Early the next morning, the raucous sounds of hundreds of white eyed conures beginning their day in a nearby mango tree jarred us awake. The decibel level they generated was amazing to hear."
